Sketched on site during the story gathering process for Plates, Vol.2: Durian.
Three Kayan elders at the Uma Belor longhouse having an afternoon chat. Pui means ‘grandmother’ in the longhouse’s Kayan dialect.
This is a high quality digital print of the artwork: ‘Three Puis’ by Dee May Tan (2019) / Watercolour and ink on paper.
The original illustration was sketched on site at Uma Belor longhouse, Sarawak, Borneo (as shown in product gallery) during the story gathering process for ‘Collecting Splintered Lores’ as featured in Plates, Vol 2 : Durian. Printed on FSC-certified and acid-free Takeo art paper.
