Bundusan Postcard - Takin & Tinantis

North Borneo Material Culture Postcard #6 :Takin & Tinantis (Murut Bookan)

The pattern on this Takin is known as Inambau. It is constructed of numerous coloured beads. Tinantis is a necklace made of colourful beads as well. They are created separately and strung together along the top of the Takin to form a necklace. The Takin is worn by both men and women. The Dusun Lobu community has  a similar jewellery to the Takin and they call it Rarayut.

Measurements of this Takin : 9.5cm (W) x 26cm (L) and can go up to 15cm (W) x 36cm (L)
